The Club's EasyPal Repeater is located at the Gympie Communications & Electronics Group clubhouse in Gympie. It is equipped with UPS backup power and will remain operational during power outages.

To access all of the repeater functions, you should download and install the latest version of
EasyPal from the link below.

The latest version and Beta test versions can be found at Erik's website
at www.vk4aes.com (in Downloads section at bottom of home page)

OPERATION:

When the Repeater successfully receives a picture it will transmit back an acknowledgement after a few seconds. It uses a store & forward type of system on the single frequency of 145.625 MHz FM. You can select the option for the repeater to immediately replay your transmitted picture or text message. Select Repeat back files immediately in the Rptr menu.

You can always manually request the device to replay the last received picture or view the Repeater's directory of files and select one to be replayed. These functions are all called from the Rptr dropdown menu.

To check your digital signal into the repeater, send an interrogation and the Repeater will reply with a waterfall ident along with your deviation level & SNR report (providing of course it is good enough to decode at all). Like with all digital, start with a low volume. It usually needs to be set lower than packet.

A successfully received picture will also show on this web page within about 1 minute if the www is co-operating and the picture size is less than 1024 x 768. Larger pictures can be sent but they won't upload to this page. To limit TX size: From EasyPal "Setup" go to "Picture downsize options" then check "HIRES (Downsize if > 1024*768)".

The repeater can also send the current Mt. Kanigan weather radar picture or the current SE QLD WX forecast in text format. (You will need a recent version to see the weather information and access all functions). Simply ask for a "directory listing" and then "Replay" #LatestAreaWX.animated or #LatestAreaWX.still (Unattended {no popups to halt program} should be checked in "Setup"). You may also ask for the current area forecast which is displayed as a text page. (Replay #LatestAreaWX.txt) or the current Mean Sea Level Pressure Chart (Replay #LatestAreaWXisobar.gif). These images from the BOM are provided primarily for use in emergency communication situations for when your local Internet is down or not available and should be double checked for date/time validity. The repeater is connected to the Internet via ADSL to receive the WX information and upload the above received pictures, but it will store the last received data should its own Internet connection fail.
